Industrial Awards
Since 1 January 2010, the whole of the private sector, including the non-government community services sector, private schools and universities, are covered by the Commonwealth Fair Work Act 2009.
Industrial Awards and Enterprise Agreements on this website only apply to people in the South Australian public sector, local government and prescribed Government Business Enterprises.
The industrial relations laws provide for former private sector State Awards and Agreements to be transferred to the Commonwealth and operate there for a time, but if you are in the private sector you should direct your enquiries about Awards and Agreements to the Fair Work Ombudsman on telephone 13 13 94 or www.fairwork.gov.au. Copies of federal Awards and Agreements can be obtained from the Fair Work Commission, telephone 1300 799 675 or www.fwc.gov.au.
